2:07 am Gratitude

2:07 am Gratitude

Oh my goodness, what a week. I’ve been trying to get everything together... photoshoots, press, and coming back to social media after “Ghost Summer.”

How are you all doing? I hope you're okay. If not, I’m sending you a big hug. I’m exhausted, but hopeful and happy. This week, I’m taking time to care for myself and rest. Drinking tons of water, booked a facial and a hair appointment, and catching up on some shows.

As I write this at 2:07 am (haha), I keep thinking about mortality. How sad it’ll be when it’s time to leave this earth. To have experienced love, passion, a fulfilling career, the arts, incredible food… and my favorite holiday is coming up. Halloween. I need to start planning. I think I want to be something silly this year.

Lately, I’ve just felt overwhelmed by how beautiful the world can be. Yes, there’s hate and violence and chaos, but I believe two things can be true at once. As humans, we have to stay strong and create personal filters to protect who we are and who we want to be, while doing our best to never hurt anyone intentionally.

With each passing day, I’ve become prouder of myself. I feel more willing to take risks, to go after the dreams I’ve always held close, to call my friends more, and to give myself permission to rest in a world that often doesn’t make space for it.

I’m just grateful. And that feels right, especially with November and Thanksgiving coming up.

That’s all for now. I hope you’re taking care of yourself too.

All my love,

Carmen Vera
